Colorado wedding flowers by season a month-by-month guide

Colorado’s growing season shapes what your wedding flowers can look like more than most couples realize. Late spring brings early peonies, ranunculus, tulips, and garden roses. Summer, the height of wedding season here, is when peonies, dahlias, and most wildflower varieties are at their best. Fall leans into dahlias, chrysanthemums, and warmer, richer tones like rust and deep plum, while winter celebrations rely more on amaryllis, anemones, and evergreen for texture.

Breaking it down further, March and April are still transitional in Denver, with early bulbs and the last of the hardy greenery before the real bloom season starts. May and June bring the first big wave of peonies and garden roses. July and August are the fullest months for variety, dahlias, zinnias, and wildflowers all overlapping with the tail end of peony season. September holds onto dahlias and late garden roses before the palette shifts toward October’s deeper, warmer tones.

Mountain elevation shifts the calendar slightly too.
